Shread - A Dread Virtual Playspace
A downloadable tool
Dread is a horror RPG written by Epidiah Ravachol and published by The Impossible Dream.
This was the first of my pandemic era forays into turning Google's shared spreadsheet program into a game. This one takes a tried and true, d20 based replacement for the Jenga tower used in games of Dread, and jazzes it up with what some people might mistake for dramatic tension.
Instead of pulling wooden blocks from a tower, players are faced with a button and a stack of 100 blocks numbered from 1 to 20. When they push the button, a random number from 1 to 20 is generated, and a block that matches that number is removed. If the 5th block of any single number is ever removed, the tower falls.
This program is meant to house character sheets and host the shared Tower for the players and the GM, but a chat or video conferencing program is still needed.
Additional instructions can be found on the spreadsheet.
